Francis Oliver 1791 - 1869

 

Francis Oliver,son of Francis Oliver(1761 - 1838) and Ann Oliver(Butcher) was born in Oakley,Hampshire in 1791.He was 1 of 11 children.

 

Ann 1787,Charles 1788 - 1869,Francis 1791 - 1869,Charlotte 1793,Hannah 1795 - 1795,Dinah 1796 - 1883,Elizabeth 1798,Lucy 1802,Robert 1804,Mary 1817 and John 1820.

 

Francis was christened 12th June 1791 in Oakley,Hampshire.

 

Marries Grace Knowles 16th April 1820 in Wootton St Lawrence,Hampshire.Together they have 6 children.

 

James 1820,Sarah 1822,John(great grandfather) 1824 - 1893,Thomas 1827,William 1829 and David in 1831.

 

The first census from 1841 shows Francis,Grace(wife),John(great grandfather),Thomas and David living inEast Oakley,Hampshire.

 

On the 10th of January his wife Grace dies of a diseased liver.She is listed as living in Wootton St Lawrence which is a larger part of Hampshire in which Oakley is situated.The Elizabeth Garreth in attendance is possibly Francis sister.

 

The 1851 census shows Francis his son John(our great grandfather),his wife Mary and Francis other son William living in East Oakley,Hampshire.

 

Another census from 1851 shows Francis mother Ann and his sister living in White Lane in Church Oakley.There are lots of Olivers on the 1851 census from White Lane so they are all possibly related.

 

The 1861 census shows Francis living with his son Thomas and his family in East Oakley,Hampshire.

 

Francis Oliver dies on the 26th of February 1869 of an abscess on the brain.The Ann Oliver in attendance is possibly his daughter-in-law who is listed as the wife of Thomas from the 1861 census.
